These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website, online store, and any related services (collectively, the “Services”) operated by The Central Butcher Lakeshore (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the Services, placing an order, or creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Our Services

The Central Butcher Lakeshore is a specialty butcher shop offering fresh, frozen, and prepared meat products, poultry, seafood, and related grocery items both in-store and online via Shopify. Our Services include product browsing, ordering, purchasing, and delivery/pickup options.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Services and make purchases. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this requirement. Certain products (such as alcohol or restricted items, if offered) may have additional age restrictions.

3. User Accounts

You may create an account to make purchases and track orders. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Ordering and Purchasing

  • All orders are subject to availability and acceptance by us.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including due to product availability, errors in pricing or description, or suspected fraud.
  • Because we sell perishable food products, orders are prepared fresh to order. You agree that once an order is processed and shipped (or prepared for pickup), it cannot be modified or cancelled except in exceptional circumstances approved by us.

5. Pricing, Payments, and Taxes

  • Prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are subject to change without notice.
  • We accept the payment methods displayed at checkout.
  • All applicable taxes (HST/GST) and shipping fees will be calculated at checkout.
  • You authorize us (or our payment processor) to charge your chosen payment method for the total amount of your order.

6. Shipping and Delivery

  • We ship perishable products with care using temperature-controlled packaging where possible. However, we cannot guarantee that products will remain at the ideal temperature during the entire delivery process.
  • You are responsible for being available to receive perishable items or for arranging safe pickup. Once delivered or picked up, products must be immediately refrigerated or frozen as appropriate.
  • We are not responsible for spoilage, quality issues, or safety problems caused by improper handling after delivery or pickup.
  • Delivery times are estimates only and not guaranteed.

7. Product Information and Accuracy

We make every effort to provide accurate descriptions, images, and pricing of our products. However, product appearance, weight, and freshness may vary slightly due to the nature of fresh butchery. All images are for illustrative purposes only.

8. Returns, Refunds, and Cancellations

Our Return & Refund Policy applies to all purchases and is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Because our products are perishable, returns are strictly limited to the situations described in that policy. Please review it carefully before purchasing.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Services (text, images, logos, graphics, etc.) is owned by The Central Butcher Lakeshore or our licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without our prior written permission.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or to violate any laws.
  • Resell our products commercially without our written permission.
  • Submit false or misleading information.
  • Interfere with the security or operation of the Services.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services and all products are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that the Services will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that products will remain fresh indefinitely after delivery. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Central Butcher Lakeshore shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the Services or our products. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Services or products.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Mississauga, Ontario.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
